SARTECH Recertification Deadline Swiftly Approaching

The January 1st, 2016 deadline for recertification of the SARTECH series qualifications is swiftly approaching.

Recertification of SARTECH certifications is now required every 3 years for NASAR to stay in compliance with ASTM F3069 (Requirements for Bodies that Operate Certification Programs in the Field of Search and Rescue).

If you received your SARTECH Certification prior to January 1st, 2013 you need to recertify by January 1st, 2016.  All certifications awarded after January 1st, 2013 will need to be recertified before their 3 year anniversary date.

Recertification is a simple process, that is of minimal impact to the true professional volunteer SAR responder.  It requires the self-documentation of Continuing Education training hours (that have a very liberal definition for inclusion), and payment of a $30 processing fee.  You only have to recertify your highest SARTECH qualification attained every 3 years.
