A UTM Map instrument made to determine coordinate locations on a 1:24000 scale USGS topo map and plot locations on this scale map using the Universal Transverse Mercator (UTM) system in metric values (meters) and to measure distances, and aid in finding slope on this scale topographic map. Line values from 0 to 10 have been added to the printed image to make reading the instrument more accurate for novice users. Made with a highly accurate printed image on .002 Mylar, laminated between two pieces of .020 Mylar, provides crystal clear reading and excellent protection of the imaged grid lines from grime, grit, and the elements. A security hole has been located in the upper left-hand corner to secure this instrument to ones clothing or compass. An excellent companion for use with GPS systems. Instructions included.
