2012 National Search and Rescue Conference Canine Handler Scholarship
In November 2004, Pedigree established a $20,000 endowment within NASAR so that each year, a deserving canine handler could attend the NASAR conference with less financial burden. The endowment is called the Peter A. Cheney Canine Handler Scholarship in recognition of the former President of Mars, Inc. which owns the Pedigree brand.
The NASAR handler who is selected will receive: complimentary conference registration and $500 toward travel and lodging expenses. Additionally, the recipient will be honored at the Conference Closing Award Ceremonies on Saturday, June 1, 2013 and will have his/her name engraved on a plaque commemorating the scholarship recipients.
NASAR is very grateful for the generosity of our long-time supporter, Pedigree, and have established rigorous guidelines for the distribution of these endowment funds. In order to be considered, a canine handler must complete the following application in its entirety. Applications will be received by the NASAR Executive Director via email by February 28, 2013. The winning individual will receive written confirmation with information regarding the process for making travel arrangements for the event.
Application Components:
Completed applications must be received no later than February 28, 2013.
