SAR Resource Typing Products Released by FEMA
Posted Friday - October 29th, 2004
FEMA has released two products to enhance the ability of incident managers to identify, obtain and track needed resources during an incident or disaster. An updated National Mutual Aid Glossary of Terms and Definitions and the second set of typed resources are available on the FEMA website.

The Glossary provides basic information and terms for resources commonly used or exchanged during a disaster. An initial 60 typed definitions were released in March 2004 as part of the National Mutual Aid and Resource Management Initiative. The new set provides information and definitions for an additional 60 resources. The resource definitions were developed by federal, state and local experts from the primary emergency response disciplines including NASAR members.
